From what I can tell, the real heart lake is in Ontario, and there are a number of lakes in the world that look a whole lot more like hearts than this one. Regardless, this lake does, in fact, look kind of like a heart, and it’s the focus of one of our challenges for Week 10 here in Fortnite. Fishing is always a comparatively contemplative activity, even in the frenetic world of Fortnite, so take this opportunity to chill out a little bit before you return to the insanity of Fortnitemares. Read on for a map, guide and location for where to catch fish at Heart Lake in Fortnite.
The lake you’re looking for is in Upstate New York, the home of one of this week’s other challenges as well. That means its smack in the middle of the large Stark Industries area in the northern part of the map. Nothing hidden here: it’s the largest body of water in the area:
So head on down and look for a fishing pole: I found mine in a little cabin with a dock on the Eastern side. Then, get looking for some fishing spots: this place is probably going to be a little bit busy these days, so it might take you more than one match if you’re trying to finish it right away. It took me three full fishing spots to complete the challenge, which I believe were all the fishing spots available in the lake at that time. I did manage to snag a legendary thermal fish, however, which handily completed another challenge while I was at it.
However you slice it, this one shouldn’t take all that long to finish. Once you’re done, bop around the area to get as many chests as are still available and then, if you’re like me, go ahead and die! It’s a more fun activity these days because you get to come back as a shadow and terrorize people, which I successfully did a bit before dying my second and final death.
