Well, I didn’t know when exactly to write this article, given that everyone is working their way through Fortnite’s season 4 battle pass at different rates, but I figured now it was time to get around to Doctor Doom’s Awakening quest. Namely, the step that asks you to visit a giant throne as Doctor Doom.
When I first saw this challenge I thought it was going to be a toilet joke, as there has been at least one giant toilet on the Fortnite map at one point or another (was that the Chapter 1 map? Flush Factory? I think so). But no, you do not have to take Doctor Doom to a toilet, as that would be beneath his supervillain status.
Rather, there is a giant throne embedded in a mountain that is more suited to his tastes. You can see what it looks like above, made out of rocks and trees, usually with some good chests on the arms.
Here’s where it is on the map, just south west of Retail Row, and it’s hard to miss once you’re in the region.
Once you spot it, you just have to climb into the giant chair and you will get credit for the challenge. But then you will unlock the next part of the challenge which is probably one of the most difficult Awakening challenges because it requires you to actually win an entire game.
The final challenge is that you need to emote during a Victory Royale as Doctor Doom, which is how you unlock his “sit on the throne” awakened emote. I don’t have a guide for how to get a Victory Royale, as if I did, I would be a Fortnite pro and not writing guide articles. But play as Doom until you win and then do not forget to emote once you’re on this step. Like the others, this will probably appear as the only emote you can do at that point, so there shouldn’t be any confusion.
There are only a few more characters past Doom to Awaken after this, Mystique, Tony Stark and Wolverine, depending on when you unlock him. But Doom and his Victory Royale demand may be among the toughest, though killing Wolverine is no joke either I suppose.
Stay tuned for further guides as the season begins to draw to a close here, short of some extension that may or may not be coming.
