Fortnite's Wilds season has added some new jungle temples to the map. But as anyone who's seen a classic adventure movie knows, it's never as easy as strolling right in.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 arrived last week, and while it's only been days since update 25.00 went live, the mysteries of the season have already left some players stumped. The biggest challenge so far are the game's temples, which act similarly to vaults in past seasons. These hold high-value loot, but the difficulty is figuring out how to get into them. This season's loot pool includes the Mythic Enhanced Flapjack Rifle, and the incredible Mythic Enhanced Drum Shotgun, both of which have a chance of appearing in these vaults.
The temple doors in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 come in different variants. The first you're likely to come across is the 'give item' door which features a bowl with smoke coming out of it that you need to place an item in. The from these doors correspond with item rarities in-game, so for blue smoke you'll need to feed the door a Rare item, Purple for Epic and so on. Once you give the item to the door it's gone for good, so make sure you're not dumping a Legendary tier Drum Shotgun in a rare-tier door, although the loot held within may be worth the trade.
Another door type is 'seek statue' which does what it says on the tin; you'll have to look for a statue somewhere in the area with a glowing head and interact with it. The kicker is that there are multiple statues in a given area, so interacting with the wrong one will rift you to the sky. Although from our time with the game we've not been able to figure out a way to identify which statue is the correct one yet.
Fortnite find flames solution
The final and trickiest temple puzzle is the Fortnite 'find flames' challenge, which typically is the second door after one of the easier challenges. If you look around the room with the door, you should see a number of podiums that can be lit. You need to find the same podium layout somewhere else in the ruins and copy that layout's lit and unlit podiums on the original set. The bad news is that the pattern of podiums by the door is randomised in every game, so we can't give you the exact solution right here.
So if you have four podiums in a specific placement, what you'll want to do is search the same ruins for another set of podiums in that same layout and copy how they are lit. So if the leftmost and centre podiums are lit but the others aren't those are the two you'll want to light back at the door.
Most of these are simple enough, but keep in mind some of the larger ruins will have podiums on different floors of the arena to keep an eye on. After that's done head on through the doors and collect your loot. Just watch out for any players who have been waiting for someone else to solve it so they can get the loot.
