Fortnite down: Servers offline to implement patch update 12.41

Servers are currently down to implement a new patch (Picture: Epic Games)

Fortnite servers are down as Epic Games is implementing their latest patch version 12.41.

Epic Games confirmed the downtime for Fortnite earlier today as the game was taken offline at 7:00 am BST.

The game could be offline anywhere between an hour to two hours, but quite often it seems Epic Games has the update ready earlier.

Once the update has been rolled out, players will have no problem updating their game by downloading the new patch and logging back in.

The official Twitter page for Fortnite's server status shared the information earlier today.

Epic Games rolls out updates for Fortnite every Tuesday, so this downtime is expected.

As for what's being added in this update, we'll have to wait and see since Epic doesn't release any patch notes for Battle Royale anymore.

We do know that a many things being added in this update will be to accommodate a new in-game event happening this week.

The event is called Fortnite and Travis Scott present: Astronomical and it looks like there will be new items and gear to earn through special challenges.

We will update this article once the servers come back online and the game is playable again
