Fortnite has just released its new week two challenges, including a rather weird one. It’s a scavenger hunt, of sorts, but it’s asking you to visit the furthest edges of the island, places that you may never have been before given that well, this is a game about enclosed circles of death trying to kill you.
Specifically, you’re asked to visit the furthest north, south, east and west points of the island, which may be slightly trickier than it sounds since you need to head to an exact spot.
Go here to see all season 8, week 2 challenges. Go here to see where to do damage in a cannon.
The furthest north part of the island is not in the middle of the map like it more or less is with the other directions. If you draw a line across the map, you’ll see that you’ll be heading to a bump on the north west side:

Here’s what that looks like in the air. You’ll be heading to an area kind of in the middle of nowhere to the north east of Junk Junction, which I can’t believe has survived the last few seasons:

Once you get there, you’ll be heading to a little outcropping directly north of that unnamed facility on the map. There’s a little winding dirt path and it will take you to the edge of the overlook. Here’s where that is when you zoom in on the map:

And once you get there, you will know that you’re in the right spot because Epic has actually planted a sign in each location telling you that yes, you are indeed at the furthest point in that direction. The sign is indestructible, I’ve discovered, so you can’t troll other players by hacking it down once you get there, confusing them as you try to complete your challenge. While the sign exists in Playground, I do think you have to do this in an actual match.

These locations are pretty remote, so you’re not exactly going to be drowning in loot after you land there. Here, your best bet is probably to gear up at Junk Junction afterward, or maybe head to The Block’s latest creation where there is usually a good amount of loot, even if you can’t predict where it is.
After that? Time for three more directions, and surprise, I have guides for all of them:
- Here’s where to visit the furthest south point of the island
- Here’s where to visit the furthest east point of the island
- Here’s where to visit the furthest west point of the island
As you might be able to guess, this is not a challenge you’re probably going to be able to complete in one match given how spread out these are. Have fun.
