There are more non-combat challenges to be had in Fortnite: Battle Royale, which is good because it’s Week 1 and everyone is starting over from scratch when it comes to those Battle Passes. Leveling up will take work and grit — or maybe money — but not all of the challenges that award battle stars require you to get your gun out. This week we have two: first, you’ll have to search for the treasure from the Tomato Town treasure map, and you can read about that one here. After that, you’ll have to find eight letters somewhere out there on the map: F-O-R-T-N-I-T-E. It makes a little introduction for anyone just joining the Battle Pass club. Here’s what you’re looking for:
The letters spawn at various locations around the map: they’re pickups like the crest from the treasure map challenge as opposed to environmental objects like in some of Season 3′s challenges. And the letters are not found at particular locations either, at least not specific letters. Instead, you have to go to one of a number of potential spawn points and the game will just deliver the letter you need next — you’ll always find the letters in order: F-O-R-T-N-I-T-E.
Thanks to Reddit User Strantjanet, we already have a nice little list of locations. Here’s where you’ll want to go to grab the letters, and take note that not all are totally simple. The one at Anarchy Acres, for example, required a bit of building. They don’t despawn if you destroy the structures they’re on/near, however, so go to town with that. - Anarchy – Red Barn, on top of the weathervane
- Dusty Divot – On the blue power line next to the right/East of the crater
- West of the racetrack/GUS – Triangle of trees
- Tilted Towers – On the clocktower
- Haunted Hills – On the eagle grave near chest spawn
- Risky Reels – On The projector
- Pleasant park – Roof middle
- Containers – Top of the big shipping container near tomato
- Salty Springs – Top of tower overlooking salty
- Greasy Grove – At the swing sets
- Moisty Mire – By the helicopter and big green screen
There may well be more locations out there, so we’ll update this list if more are discovered. These, however, will be enough to finish the challenge. Honestly, I don’t know how you’d go about doing this one without a guide. The treasure maps and search betweens you could theoretically do on your own, but these are all in more or less random locations, and finding them without the internet hive mind would take forever. Not that we need to worry about what we’d do without the hive mind, of course.
