It only took a few hours for fans to datamine the hell out of the new v4.0 patch in order to unearth a treasure trove of upcoming cosmetics of Fortnite season 4.
The new cosmetics include skins, pickaxes, gliders and emotes, and include at least one pair of skins that I would classify as superheroic. Possibly two, but I’m still not entirely sure.
Here’s everything that’s been found so far, along with the different rarities so you have some idea of what they’ll cost when they show up in the store.
Liteshow and Nitelite (Uncommon)
While these are both pretty awesome, I am…unclear whether or not they’re supposed to be superheroes alongside Carbide, Omega and Valor. I don’t think so, I think they’re just supposed to be blacklight festival type skins (perhaps to go with the new dance club in Yonder Yard?) But who knows, maybe they have some sort of light-based superpowers.
Chromium and Diecast (Rare)
Alright, I’m officially calling these two superheroes. Maybe that’s not really what they’re supposed to be, but either they’re metal people like Colossus, or they’re robots…who can still be superheroes, so that doesn’t disqualify them. These are easily my two favorite skins in this leak, and I must have both of them.
Abstrakt and Trailblazer (Epic)
These are the male/female alternates for Teknique and Battlehawk, and they’re….fine I guess. About what you’d expect from the gender-flipped variants. Not sure why you’d buy these two at Epic rarity over the other four.
Royale Bomber (Rare) and Glow Stick (Epic)
They really love these pilot-based skins huh? He’s fine, I suppose. The Glow Stick is meant to go with the lite-up people, I imagine.
Tenderizer (Rare) and Renegade Roller (Epic)
Oh my god, I love Tenderizer. I must have that. I’m not sure if that’s meant to go with the Chromium and Diecast skins, but I would definitely use it for that.
Persuader (Rare) and Glow Rider (Uncommon)
Uh, did Persuader just become my favorite new pickaxe in the game? One with MISSILES IN IT? Yes please.
Steadfast and Solid Strider (Uncommon)
Meh.
Tag Bag and True North (Epic)
For your street artists and soldiers respectively.
Emotes
I can’t tell what these dances are going to be from the still images, but none of them look like Hotline Bling, so that’s a shame. Freestylin’ might be the Carlton dance from Fresh Prince (Update: oops, I forgot that’s in the game already). The Chicken emote is 100% Gob’s chicken dance from Arrested Development, which is amazing.
Alright, a good selection here. I’m not sure if this is going to be everything we see this season, or if there’s more to come, but I like what I’m seeing for the most part. What about you?
