Fortnite: Battle Royale's Retail Row Treasure Map: Where To Find The Treasure

Fortnite: Battle Royale

Another week, another treasure map. Fortnite: Battle Royale’s non-combat challenges have become some of my favorite parts of the game, providing for some of my stranger encounters with other players as well as a nice break from the usual run-and-be-gunned gameplay that characterizes most of my time in this world. This week we’ll be heading to Retail Row to find direction, and the map is actually easier to follow then it’s been before. So feel free to do it yourself, but if you’d l like some guidance, here’s where to find the treasure. Spoilers below:

Like the Snobby Shores map before it, the Retail Row map appears to be randomly generated, so I’ll be no help guiding you to that one. But drop into Retail Row and do your best to search around: one idea is to show up later in the match, once the initial mess has already been sorted out — Retail Row is busy enough on a normal day, and it’s even busier right now. That means I kept getting shotgunned while trying to screenshot the thing, so thanks to YouTube user General for providing a nice, clear screenshot:

Anyone who’s played this game for long enough — and especially anyone that suffered through the chest challenge here — will recognize this place immediately. It’s the Wailing Woods, located in the Northeast section of the map. This map is much more detailed than the ones we’ve seen in the past, so it’s actually going to be a slightly better way to find the treasure than the in-game map. But below you can see the location there as well, zoomed in as far as possible to get an idea of where it is. Take note of where my little character arrow is: it’s looking directly at the treasure:

It’s essentially just north of the tree that sits in the Southwest corner of the hedge maze. Someone had blown out part of the maze in my game, but here’s me looking at the treasure from outside the maze. Note that if the maze were still intact, it would be in a little corner by itself:

And that’s it: I’ve also taken to using the treasure locations in this game as farming spots for kills: there are a lot of people dropping in without much intention of fighting it out after they’ve gotten the treasure, so drop onto a nearby chest instead of the treasure and reap the benefits — I managed to snag myself a few pistol kills for a previous weeks’ challenge.
