Two people have been killed and two people injured following a shooting in Fort Bend County, Texas.
The suspected shooter is believed to have chased his ex-partner and opened fire on her while she was driving a black car, leaving her with minor injuries.
The man - identified by police as 42-year-old Juan DeLeon Jr - then shot and killed the woman's mother and another relative before turning the gun on himself.
He is now in a critical condition in hospital with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
His ex-girlfriend is expected to survive.
The pair are believed to have recently been in a relationship before the incident took place but the motive is not yet clear, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said.
Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene where they treated the victims.
Footage from the scene showed the shooter being airlifted by helicopter from the residential area known as Horseshoe Bend Village.
Aerial footage from the scene showed a black SUV taped off by officers with the back window smashed.
The county's sheriff's office earlier confirmed on Twitter that multiple people had been injured.
They say the incident took place in Rosenberg, a suburban commuter city just south of Houston.
The incident was recorded in the 5000 Navajo Road block, near State Highway 36 .
Officers later said that there was "no threat to the area."
