There's good news for racing game fans, as upcoming indie tarmac-shredder Formula Legends just got a brand new trailer at the Future Games Show, showcasing new gameplay, vehicles and revealing that there's a playable demo that you can try right now!
Self-described as a love letter to Formula racing, the trailer showcases tracks in a variety of locations including Britain, Italy, Canada, Belgium, the Japanese countryside, Southern France, the Emirates and numerous modern cityscapes. The emphasis is less on Formula racing as a solely modern experience, and more about an appreciation for the culture of the sport throughout its long history, with cars both new and old, going back as far as the designs of the 1960s.
Meanwhile, the gameplay seems to take a top-down perspective with an eagle-eyed view of the track, with a focus on allowing the players to have better sense of what's around them, and folding in an arcade-style element in the process that blends with the boxier graphics and art style.
The demo for Formula Racing should be playable on Steam right now, and while the official release date has yet to be announced, the developers have confirmed that the game will be playable on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 as well as PC. And for up-to-date info on the development process, you can follow the developers, 3DClouds, on X.
