Lorraine Keane has revealed her nerves meeting the Queen as she wished her a happy 96th birthday.
Ahead of the monarch’s birthday, the TV star shared a throwback snap to meeting Queen Elizabeth II ten years ago during her Irish visit in 2011 at the Convention Centre in Dublin.
The former Xpose host revealed their conversation they had at the time, with Keane giving her “a bit of a giggle” when she shared that she met Prince Charles.
Lorraine said: “Happy 96th Birthday to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This photo was taken just over 10 years ago.
“I loved meeting her and was delighted to get a few minutes with her.
“During our chat I told her that I met her son Prince Charles when I had the pleasure of introducing him on his first visit to the Republic of Ireland 20 years ago at an event I hosted.
“Her majesty asked me ‘How did you find him?’ to which I like to remember replying, ‘The Prince? Charming!’.
However the truth is I was very nervous and said, ‘He was lovely her majesty’ which did give her a bit of a giggle, so all was not lost.”
