Former White Sox pitcher Daniel Webb, 28, dies in Tennessee ATV accident

Former White Sox pitcher Daniel Webb died in an ATV accident in Tennessee on Saturday at the age of 28.

Webb pitched in parts of four seasons with the Sox, going 7-5 with a 4.50 earned-run average in 94 games as a reliever from 2013-16.

"Daniel left many friends within the Chicago White Sox organization and we are all shocked and stunned by the news of (Saturday night's) terrible accident," the Sox said in a statement. "He was a terrific young man with a full life ahead of him. All thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends as they deal with (Saturday's) tragic news."

Webb, who was born in Paducah, Ky., had Tommy John surgery in June of 2016 and was released by the Sox in November of '16.
