Former Welsh rugby teen prodigy Tom Prydie 'offered trial in English Premiership' after Scarlets exit

Wales international Tom Prydie has reportedly been offered a trial by Bath.

The 29-year-old left the Scarlets at the start of November after four seasons and 40 games.

Bath are looking for cover for injured Lions and England back-three man Anthony Watson and MailOnline report that Prydie is being lined up. Watson is sidelined long-term after sustaining a serious knee injury playing against Saracens earlier this season.

Porthcawl product Prydie has experience of playing in English rugby having featured briefly for Wasps in 2012.

But most of his career has been spent this side of the border with spells at the Ospreys and the Dragons as well as the Scarlets.

He was hailed as Welsh rugby's boy wonder when he made it into the history books by becoming the youngest player to play Test rugby for Wales, winning his debut cap against Italy in the Six Nations in 2010 at the age of just 18 years and 25 days.

Able to cover ground quickly and a useful goalkicker, he underlined his worth at the Junior World Championship in 2012 when slotting the decisive penalty in driving rain as Wales beat New Zealand 9-6.

The victory was Wales' first over New Zealand at U20 level.

Prydie's seven caps for the Wales senior team came between 2010 and 2018.
