Former Warrior Kevin Durant tests positive for coronavirus

Current Brooklyn Nets and former Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant tested positive for coronavirus, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Durant was one of four Nets players to receive the diagnosis.

Brooklyn, which did not reveal the names of any of the players who tested positive, said only one was displaying symptoms.

Durant is asymptomatic, according to Charania.

“Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine. We’re going to get through this,” Durant said, according to Charania.

Durant won two NBA Finals Most Valuable Player awards in his three seasons with Golden State. Previously, he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder organization.

Durant is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in the NBA Finals with the Warriors last season.

He has yet to suit up for a game with the Nets.

In a statement, the Nets said the four players are under quarantine and receiving help from team doctors.

“All four players are presently isolated and under the care of team physicians,” the statement said.
