Former Warrior Andre Iguodala advances to the NBA Finals with the Miami Heat

Although the Golden State Warriors run of five consecutive appearances in the NBA Finals is over; another streak is growing.

Following the Miami Heat’s win over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, former Warrior Andre Iguodala has advanced to his sixth straight trip to the NBA Finals.

The ex-Golden State sixth man logged 28 minutes, scoring 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the field. Iguodala did his best Splash Brother impersonation, drilling a perfect 4-of-4 shots from beyond the arc. The 2015 NBA Finals MVP added three rebounds, two steals and an assist off the bench. Iguodala capped off his game six performance with a +20 on the box score.

Bam Adebayo’s double-double performance helped punch Miami’s ticket in the NBA Finals. The Kentucky product tallied a game-high 32 points on 11-of-15 shooting with 14 boards, five assists and a steal. Rookie Tyler Herro paired with Iguodala off the bench, recording 19 points, seven assists and five rebounds.

Iguodala will have a reunion with a pair of his former Golden State teammates in the NBA Finals. The former Warriors sixth-man will link with JaVale McGee, Quinn Cook and the Los Angeles Lakers. Iguodala will likely faceoff with Lakers All-Star LeBron James.

After Golden State’s storied rivalry with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, the matchup between James and Iguodala will be the fifth time the pair of veteran forwards have laced up against each other in the championship series.

Game one of the NBA Finals is slated to tip-off on Wednesday at 6 P.M. PT.
