Former Warrior Alec Burks adds 18 points off the bench in Sixers vs. Celtics Game 1

For the first time since 2012, the Golden State Warriors will not be apart of the NBA’s playoff picture.

While Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins are at home, Warriors Wire is checking in on former members of the Dubs competing in the postseason dance.

In the opening round of the NBA playoffs, a player that began the 2019-20 campaign in the Bay Area, suited up for the Philadelphia 76ers game one against the Boston Celtics. After a strong stretch run in the Orlando Bubble, Alec Burks led the Sixers off the bench against the Celtics.

The former Golden State swingman recorded 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field. Burks added six boards and two assists in 28 minutes.

Fellow former Warrior turned Sixer Glenn Robinson III was ruled out against the Celtics with an oblique muscle strain. Robinson III was limited to only two games in the seeding round due to a hip injury.

With Joel Embiid leading the way with a double-double, Burks joined five other members of the Sixers to register double-figures in scoring. However, it wasn’t enough for the Boston Celtics. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 61 points on Boston’s way to a 109-101 series-opening victory.

Burks will be back on the floor for game two against the Celtics on Wednesday at 3:30 P.M. PST.

Other former Warriors in the postseason include Andre Iguodala, JaVale McGee, Quinn Cook, Chris Boucher and Jamal Crawford.
