Former Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin wants to return to the NFL

Percy Harvin, a former Minnesota wide receiver and returner, is ready to return to the NFL.

“I thought I was done, but that itch came back,” Harvin told ESPN’s Josina Anderson on Tuesday.

Harvin was explosive for the Vikings and other teams, but ran into difficulty due to migraine headaches and injuries.

He was drafted by Minnesota and played four seasons with the team before being traded to the Seahawks. He had 3,302 receiving yards with the Vikings, the most with any team he played for in the NFL. Besides the Seahawks and Vikings, he briefly played for the Bills and the Jets.

Arguably his most famous play came when he was on the Seahawks. Harvin ran back the opening kickoff of the Super Bowl en route to a Seattle victory. He also had five kickoffs returned for touchdowns with the Vikings in the regular season.

He was an electrifying athlete in space, so it will be interesting to see if an NFL team wants to take a chance.

“My body is feeling good,” Harvin told Anderson. “Mentally I’m better. My family is good. The timing is right.”
