Former Vikings tackle Phil Loadholt serving as intern for team

The Vikings might need some offensive line help.

But that’s not why former Vikings tackle Phil Loadholt was back on the sidelines.

Per the Pioneer Press, “Loadholt has joined the team for the first half of training camp as an intern from the NFL’s Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship program.”

The Vikings drafted Loadholt in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played six solid seasons with the Vikings before retiring before 30 years old.

Per Spotrac, Loadholt made more than $24 million in his career.

A pretty cool thing for both the Vikings and Loadholt to have him back on the sidelines, learning about what goes into coaching and other nuances of the game without the pads on.
