Former Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon will miss 2nd-straight season

Super sad news coming out of 49ers camp.

Former Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon will miss his second-straight season.

McKinnon missed the 2018 with a torn ACL suffered in training camp, and the team announced that McKinnon will require another procedure on his knee, and he’ll also miss the 2019 season.

Horrible news. McKinnon had his breakout season in 2017 with the Vikings, totaling 991 yards from scrimmage to go with five touchdowns.

The 49ers reward McKinnon with a four-year, $30 million contract with $18 million guaranteed.

He’s due $6.8 million next season and counts $8 million against the cap, but the 49ers could cut ties with a dead cap penalty of $4 million.
