Former Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater reuniting with George Paton in Denver

George Paton, once the assistant general manager of the Vikings, was hired to be the GM of the Broncos this offseason.

Now that he is heading the front office in Denver, he’s made the place look a little bit like the Minnesota of old.

As reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, former Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is going from the Panthers to the Broncos in a trade. In return for Bridgewater, Carolina gets just a sixth-round pick, per Pelissero.

According to 9News’ Mike Klis, Bridgewater’s contract has been restructured, which includes eliminating the final year and $21 million of his contract in 2022. Klis also reported that there will be some sort of split of the $10 million base guarantee between the two teams.

So Denver didn’t have to give up much to land Bridgewater, especially if more news comes out in regards to a restructured contract. Hey, maybe Bridgewater even rekindles some old magic and thrives with the Broncos.
