Former Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater feels the best he ever has

Three years after a nasty knee injury that threatened Teddy Bridgewater’s career, he’s back and feels better than ever.

“I can honestly say that this is the best I’ve ever felt in my six years,” Bridgewater said Wednesday via Nola.com. “And I feel great mentally, physically, and spiritually.”

Bridgewater enters his second season as a backup for Drew Brees with the Saints. He’ll face off against the Vikings, his former team of four seasons, in Friday night’s preseason opener in New Orleans.

The future could still be very bright for Bridgewater considering he’s still just 26 years old.

If I were a betting man, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Bridgewater earn a starting spot next season. The Saints signed him to a one-year, $7.25 million this summer. Chances are there will be more than one team this offseason searching for a QB1. If Bridgewater has a strong preseason, that’s the start to prove he’s that guy.

It’s an inspiring story for a guy who could have just given up.
