Former Vikings OL Tom Compton signs with Jets

Tom Compton won’t be returning to the Vikings for another season.

On Monday, the Jets announced they signed the offensive lineman.

Compton, a Minnesota native, started 14 games at left guard last season for the Vikings. Per Pro Football Focus, Compton graded as the league’s 44th-ranked guard in 2018 with a player grade of 60.6.

This isn’t a huge loss for the Vikings, but with Nick Easton signing with the Saints on Sunday night, the Vikings don’t have many options to address the line through free agency.

The draft is looking that much more important for a team with huge concerns on the offensive line.
