LUCKNOW: The condition of veteran BJP leader and former CM of UP, Kalyan Singh, remained critical here on Tuesday even though doctors at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences continued to monitor his health.
In an official statement, SGPGI director Prof RK Dhiman said: “His clinical parameters are being closely monitored by the expert consultants. He has been put on non-invasive ventilation due to respiratory worsening.”
Singh is undergoing treatment at the critical care medicine department of SGPGI since July 4. He had taken ill on July 3 and was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences where experts suspected renal issues. However, by the time diagnosis could be finalised, the former CM’s blood pressure rose dangerously and he was referred to SGPGI for better management.
Meanwhile, governor Anandiben Patel paid a visit to see him. Senior BJP leaders and ministers have been paying visits to wish speedy recovery to their leader.
