LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath paid a visit to Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) to take stock of former chief minister Kalyan Singh’s condition amid reports that his health had deteriorated further.
Undergoing treatment at the institute since July 4 after being referred from the Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences where he was admitted the previous night on complaints of reduced consciousness and renal infection.
While under treatment, Singh’s blood pressure went up to dangerous levels and was sent to SGPGI where he was stabilised. However, for better treatment, Singh was taken to the critical care unit of SGPGI. Since then a team of senior consultants from critical care medicine, cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology and neurology have been attending to him.
Director Prof RK Dhiman stated that Singh continues to remain on life support and is being closely monitored. He also said that minister for medical education Suresh Khanna also accompanied the CM.
