Former UGA WR Mecole Hardman signs life-changing contract

Former Bulldog wideout Mecole Hardman Jr. greatly added to the University of Georgia’s class of 2019 average starting salary statistics on Monday.

Hardman signed his rookie contract with the Kansas City Chiefs that projects him to make nearly $5 million over four years, most of which is guaranteed, with a $1.6 million signing bonus, per spotrac.com.

Hardman, the 56th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, will be the Chiefs slot receiver and return man. The Chiefs traded up to secure the services of the former Elbert County High (Georgia) playmaker.

Georgia’s second-leading receiver, with 34 catches for 532 yards and seven touchdowns last season, Hardman also was an electrifying returner, averaging at 20.1 yards per return.

With the Chiefs’ starting wide receiver Tyreek Hill facing serious off the field issues, the Chiefs were not only needing an insurance policy at the position, but hopefully will have both of the speedy playmakers available come this fall.
