Former UGA TE Luke Ford hires prominent attorney to appeal NCAA

After the NCAA rejected Luke Ford’s request to play immediately next season at Illinois, the former UGA tight end hired attorney Thomas Mars and now plans on appealing the NCAA’s seemingly unfair decision.

Mars has had his fair share of success when dealing with the NCAA before. He won immediate eligibility for former UGA QB Justin Fields at Ohio State as well as QB Shea Patterson at Michigan last year.

Ford transferred from UGA in order to be closer to his grandfather who’s health has declined recently. Many were outraged after the NCAA denied Ford’s request to play immediately at Illinois.

With one of the best attorneys in the business now in his corner, Ford should have a good shot to get this NCAA ruling overturned.
