Former UGA receiver A.J. Green’s injury, contract status updated

Former Georgia Bulldog A.J. Green has been sidelined to start the season with an ankle injury. Green is a key cog in the Cincinnati Bengals offense, so it is no surprise that the team has struggled without him. A.J. Green’s friend and longtime QB, Andy Dalton has been benched however. Dalton, who is forth in the NFL is passing yardage, is not happy about his benching:

Before Dalton’s benching, there were rumors that the Bengals would trade A.J. Green. Now that the trade deadline is over, Green and Dalton will stay in Cincinnati. Green’s deal is expiring, but the good news is he’s expected to return to face the Baltimore Ravens on November 10th. Here’s the most important information to know on Green:

A.J. Green wants to remain in Cincinnati, but the Bengals are headed in the wrong direction. After starring at UGA, Green has yet to win a playoff game for the troubled franchise. It isn’t his fault. In order to win, he’d need to go somewhere else. Green likely expects a hefty contract:

A long term deal give Green more security. A franchise tag could come into play if they don’t reach a long term deal. Almost no player wants the franchise tag.
