Former UGA QB Justin Fields criticized in Shea Patterson burner tweet

On Sunday, many fans began accusing Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson of having a burner Twitter account after a tweet surfaced on his main account that referred to himself in the third person and attacked others such as his coach Jim Harbaugh as well as former UGA and current Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields.

It’s no surprise that there might be some bad blood between the Ohio State and Michigan quarterbacks given the rivalry between the schools, but it’s still odd to see this sort of public calling out if it is indeed a burner account.

Patterson would not be the first athlete to get caught using a burner. Kevin Durant, among others, has been known to use burner accounts to defend himself in the past. It’s easy to understand why athletes would want to find a way to defend themselves when they get criticized so often, but this still isn’t a great look for Patterson or Michigan if the tweet was real.
