Former UFC champ Miesha Tate has ‘unexpected’ at-home delivery of second child

If there’s anyone out there who still questions Miesha Tate’s toughness, let this be the final verdict in putting such nonsense to rest.

Tate (18-7 MMA, 5-4 UFC), the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion, announced on Sunday that she gave birth to her second child – a boy named Daxton Wylder Nunez – from the confines of her own home in Singapore.

According to Tate, who announced the news on social media, she had planned to have the baby in a local hospital. She did not go into exact details about the surprise arrival, other than to call it “unexpected.” Thankfully it appears to have all gone off without a hitch, and now Tate is a mother of two (via Instagram):

Today I became a Mother all over again! The experience was incredible, we planned a hospital birth but our son had other plans!
👶
Daxton Wylder Nuñez was born at 8:20am June 14th in our home. We welcomed our son as a family….. it was perfectly imperfect and I am over the moon!
👶
I cannot thank you enough @johnnyboymma you kept me centred, focused and helped me unexpectedly deliver our baby! I couldn’t have done it without you truly. Thank you for being my rock.

Tate, 33, retired from MMA competition in November 2016 after a loss to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205. She’s since relocated to Singapore, where she serves as a vice president for the Asia-based ONE Championship organization.
