Former Tottenham star slams Man United over Marcus Rashford injury news to devastate fans

Manchester United have been dealt a huge injury blow amid the battle for a top four finish in the Premier League, with Marcus Rashford facing several weeks on the sidelines.

The United forward was forced off during the Red Devils' 1-0 win against Wolves in the FA Cup third round replay in midweek, having aggravated a back problem.

As a result, he missed out on Manchester United's clash with Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield, with Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirming that Rashford was set to be out for a few weeks.

But chief football writer for The Times, Henry Winter , has posted an update on social media that the England international is set to be out for between two and three months with a double stress fracture, having been carrying a single stress fracture prior to the Wolves game.

Winter also claims that Rashford requires non-intrusive surgery to remove a piece of floating bone in his ankle, adding that he has been playing through immense pain to help Manchester United.

And his tweet has sparked a response from former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara, who has been critical of Manchester United on social media.

His tweet read: "Had a double stress fracture myself ended up with surgery and two screws in my spine, can play with injections but very poor from Man Utd medical team."

The latest injury news on Rashford will come as a huge blow to Solskjaer and his side, with United battling with Chelsea, Tottenham , Wolves and Sheffield United for a place in the top four.

Prior to the game against Liverpool, United were five points behind Chelsea in fourth, with the Red Devils ahead of Wolves in sixth on goal difference.

Sheffield United are one point further back in seventh, with Tottenham three points behind United in the table.
