Former Tottenham midfielder scared by Arsenal ascent and makes prediction Spurs' fans will hate

Tottenham Hotspur have fallen behind Arsenal and former manager Tim Sherwood is just a little bit scared about the prospect of the club losing out to the Gunners this season.

Arsenal fans can smell St Totteringham’s Day just around the corner after a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United on Monday evening.

It has moved Arsenal two points clear of Spurs and into third in the Premier League. Whilst Spurs still sit in fourth and ahead of Manchester United on goals difference, Sherwood admits he is worried about the prospect of Arsenal finishing above his former side.

Sherwood is not particularly confident about Spurs’ chances but is backing them to make the top four. But it’s Arsenal’s ascent that has him worried and predicting that they will win all of their remaining matches.

Alexandre Lacazette has noticed something different about the Emirates Stadium this season

“I think they will,” Sherwood replied hesitantly when asked if Spurs will finish in the top four. “What alarms me is that if Arsenal finish above Tottenham. We thought the pendulum had swung the other way and for a new manager to go in and hardly strengthen his squad, would be unthinkable.

“To go into this new stadium and play Thursday nights in the Europe League, it’s unthinkable. I don’t even want to think about it. I looked at Arsenal’s fixtures, they’ll win every game. They can win every single game.”
