A former Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace academy trialist has opened up on a terrible acid attack which has left him with life-altering facial injuries.
Tega Agberhiere, 17, was out with friends in Waterford (in southeast Ireland) when he was attacked.
The teenager was blinded initially and though his sight is slowly returning, the footballer has spoken of the sheer pain he suffered.
Agberhiere and his friends were rushed to hospital before the former Spurs and Palace academy trialist had to be transferred to Cork because of the severity of his injuries.

Agberhiere told WLR FM: "I can’t describe it. When I got here I thought I’d never be able to see again. I 100% thought I’d never be able to see another thing in my life.
“I’m just grateful for everyone who’s texted and been messaging me and saying nice things, it’s helping me get through everything.
“Every day I’m getting better with all the messages I’m getting. I’m just grateful for them, I want to say thanks.”
The Daily Star have reported that four boys were arrested and released without charge as a result of the incident.
