Former Tottenham full-back Alan Hutton believes Mauricio Pochettino should be using Lucas Moura in a bid to turn around the club’s poor form around.
After being thrashed 7-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week, Spurs were comfortably beaten by Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The result was the latest in a poor run of form on the road for the north London club, with Moura once again being handed a watching brief from the bench before entering the fray with 17 minutes remaining.
So far this season, the forward has only started two of his side's eight Premier League games and last played a full 90 minutes in the defeat to Colchester United on penalties in the Carabao Cup last month.
But Hutton believes the Brazilian can offer his struggling side something different.
"He brings something different with his pace,” the former Scotland international told Football Insider .
“I think when you look at the players he has been playing - Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli - on their days they’re of course really good players, but you need more of that type of player.
“Even if he is not playing well, his pace can get you something.
“He is one who looks like he is trying his hardest whether he is starting or not.
“He looks like he is trying to win the game and get a goal, so it’s coming to a stage where he has got to put him in.”
