Former Tottenham and Manchester City stars among Benfica starting lineup for Rangers match

There are a number of household names in the Benfica starting lineup for tonight's Europa League clash with Rangers.

Fans of the English Premier League will be familiar with centre-back pairing of Jan Vertonghen, formerly of Spurs, and ex Manchester City star Nicolas Otamendi.

Brazilian international Everton Soares starts in the middle of the park along with Benfica captain, and Portugal playmaker, Pizzi. Germany international Julian Weigl and Adel Taraabt make up the midfield four.

Good news for Rangers is that there's no place in the starting lineup for striker Darwin Nunez, who scored a hat-trick in the opening group stage game against Lech Poznan. He has to settle for a spot on the bench.

Benfica line up as follows: Vlachodimos, Goncalves, Otamendi, Vertonghen, Tavares, Pizzi, Weigl, Taarabt, Everton, Seferovic, Rafa Silva.

Subs: Svilar, Helton, Gilberto, Jardel, Ferro, Grimaldo, Gabriel, Chiquinho, Cervi, Waldschmitd, Darwin, Goncalo Ramos.

Steven Gerrard made two changes to his Rangers side, with Steven Davis and Glen Kamara coming in for Scott Arfield and Cedric Itten.

Rangers  XI: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Helander, Barisic, Jack, Davis, Kamara, Aribo, Kent, Morelos.

Subs: McLaughlin, Bassey, Hagi, Itten, Patterson, Barker, Stewart, Roofe, Balogun, Barjonas, Arfield, Dickson.

Kick off at the Estadio da Luz is at 5.55pm.
