Former Titans DT Albert Haynesworth ordered to pay private school tuition for kids

Former Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth will have to pay private school tuition for his children after recently being discharged from the hospital.

On Thursday morning, Haynesworth was ordered by a Williamson County judge to pay private school tuition for two of his children, and he will have to go through financial mediation with his ex-wife.

“He has an obligation to be proactive,” Judge Joseph A. Woodruff said in a report by The Tennessean. “He has to comply. But the court is concerned. The only option I have is the Band-Aid option. The father has the ability to satisfy the tuition. But the couple will have to return to mediation for the long-term [financial] problems. It’s obvious that if left to their own devices, they can’t resolve them.”

Despite his recent announcement that he is suffering from kidney failure, and his defense making a point of that, Haynesworth is still obligated to pay a $20,144 tuition expense. This is far from his first time dealing with matters like this, as he received the same order after not paying on time in the last school year.

A first-round pick by the Titans in 2002, Haynesworth played for the team until 2008. In his professional career – which concluded in 2011 – he posted 30.5 sacks, 347 tackles and 65 quarterback hits.
