Former Titans DB Desmond King agrees to terms with Texans

Defensive back Desmond King, who was acquired by the Tennessee Titans via a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers last season and manned the slot, has agreed to terms with the Houston Texans.

The news comes from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who cites King’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The deal is for one year and is worth $3.5 million.

Just minutes after it was revealed that King was moving on, the Titans came to terms on an agreement with former Cleveland Browns cornerback, Kevin Johnson, who played the majority of his snaps out of the slot in 2020.

For now, it would appear Johnson is in line to take over the slot job in 2021, or at least have a chance to compete for it.

As far as King is concerned, it will be interesting to see if the Titans tried to retain him at all. After all, that price is reasonable and something Tennessee likely could have afforded.
