Former Tennessee Titans shine in Hall of Fame Game

Football is back.

The Tennessee Titans may not play their first preseason game until Aug. 8, but a handful of former Titans shined in Thursday’s Hall of Fame Game.

The Denver Broncos defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 14-10 on Thursday night.

Here’s a look at their performances.

WR Khalfani Muhammad

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

Former Titans running back Khalfani Muhammad started for the Denver Broncos and scored the first touchdown of the game. He also rushed 7 times for 50 yards, averaging 7.1 yards per carry, and caught 4 passes for 24 yards.

Muhammad also contributed on special teams returning a kick off for 24 yards. While the stats for Muhammad are solid, they don’t tell the full story. Muhammad looked really good in this one, and just barely missed a pass that would have likely gone for a long touchdown.

WR Nick Williams

Williams who is known by Titans fans for dropping a wide open touchdown in the loss against the Buffalo Bills is also with the Broncos now. Williams caught 2 passes for 18 yards and handled punt return duties. With so many young players on the field, Williams veteran presence was noticeable.

Mike Munchak

Former Houston Oilers offensive lineman turned former offensive line coach, turned former head coach of the Titans is now the Broncos’ offensive line coach. Munchak was also a finalist for the Broncos’ vacant head coaching job which ultimately went to Vic Fangio.

After missing out on the job, Munchak accepted the position of offensive line coach. Munchak will be tasked with helping develop young players such as left tackle Garet Bolles and rookie left guard Dalton Risner who was a second round pick in this year’s draft.

On the other side of the ball, the Falcons have former Titans tight end Luke Stocker and cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson who didn’t play in this one. It’s also worth mentioning that former Titans tight ends and head coach Mike Mularkey is now the tight ends coach for the Atlanta Falcons.
