Former Sydney swim coach charged with child sexual assault

Paul Frost was arrested at a home in Sylvania on Wednesday.

A former swimming coach has been charged with multiple counts of sexual and indecent assault while working at a swim school in Padstow in Sydney's south-west.

Paul Frost, 43, was charged following a police investigation into reports of alleged child grooming and sexual abuse at a Padstow swim school his father founded, the Doug Frost Swim School, between 1997 and 2003.

His father, Doug Frost, is the former coach of Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe.

Paul Frost was arrested at a Sylvania home on Wednesday morning and taken to Sutherland Police Station.

He has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a victim under 16, six counts of aggravated indecent assault of a victim under 16 and three counts of inciting aggravated indecency of a victim under 16 and under authority.

Police will allege in court that Paul Frost groomed and sexually abused two boys over multiple occasions when the boys were aged between 11 and 16.

Police also allege he was the boys' swimming coach at the time of the incidents.

Paul Frost also had a catering business for a short time and was an entrant in the first series of MasterChef Australia.

The swim school is now closed.
