Former Swansea City, Tottenham and Aston Villa man Tom Carroll's QPR hope following seven-month hiatus

Tom Carroll has been training with Queens Park Rangers ahead of the 2020/21 season, according to reports.

The central midfielder left Swansea City in January but is yet to secure a contract elsewhere.

However, West London Sport report that Carroll has been training with Swansea's Championship rivals QPR in recent weeks.

And they state that the 28-year-old featured for the Rs in their behind-closed-doors friendly with Arsenal this week.

Mark Warburton's men lost the friendly encounter 4-3 at Arsenal's London Colney training ground.

Carroll - who made 103 appearances for Swansea - spent the duration of the 2013/14 campaign on loan with QPR from Tottenham prior to his move to South Wales.

The former England Under-21 international is well known to QPR's director of football Les Ferdinand and technical director Chris Ramsey, who were both previously at Spurs.

Carroll made just 10 appearances in all competitions for the Swans under Steve Cooper last term before being released midway through the 2019/20 campaign.
