Former Swansea City and Man City striker Wilfried Bony seals Saudi Arabia move

Former Swansea City and Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony has joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

The striker has been without a club since being released by the Swans last summer.

He trained with League Two side Newport County and also embarked on his own personal fitness programme to remain in top shape as he searched for a new home.

And it has been confirmed that Bony has secured a move to Al-Ittihad, eight-time winners of the Saudi Professional League.

The details of his contract agreement have not been disclosed.

Bony made just seven appearances for the Swans under Graham Potter last term after missing the opening months of the campaign due to injury.

He joined Al-Arabi in January last year and impressed during his loan spell with the Qatari outfit before being released by Swansea.

His most recent senior action came for Ivory Coast during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, with The Elephants suffering a penalty shootout defeat to eventual winners Algeria in the quarter-finals.
