Former Strictly star James Jordan backing Max George to win after launch

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan has his eye on one pairing for the win this year.

James left the series in 2013, having joined the BBC series cast in 2006.

He certainly knows his stuff on the show having been a huge part of it, and he even made it to the final twice.

Now, he's sharing his thoughts on who might win the latest series amid fans making their own predictions.

Saturday night's launch saw the celebrity contestants perform with their professional dance partners for the first time.

Maisie Smith and her partner Gorka Marquez are already topping the odds to claim the Glitterball Trophy this series.

Max George and Dianne Buswell are also tipped to steal the crown, and this is the couple James himself is backing.

James has joined forces with bookmakers Ladbrokes as their social correspondent for the seires.

Not only that, but he's been given a £200 charity bet for the series to use on his chosen couple.

If they end up winning the series, his winnings will be donated to Demelza House, a charity close to his heart.

Backing Max and Dianne as that couple, he believes they have what it takes to win the show.

He told them: "Max is the most likeable person and in my opinion the best looking couple which always helps.

"He doesn't look like a natural but I bloody love them together.

"One of those couples I would vote for even if they were bad."

James isn't alone, with several fans also thinking Max has a great chance of winning, or of at least making it to the finale.

Other names tipped to do well include Nicola Adams, HRVY and Caroline Quentin.

Strictly Come Dancing kicks off the 2020 competition next Saturday at 7:25pm on BBC One.
