Former Strictly Come Dancing star Chizzy Akudolu left heartbroken as beloved mum dies

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Chizzy Akudolu has shared her utter heartbreak as her beloved mum Maria has died.

The actress - who appeared on the hit BBC One dance show in 2017 - took to Twitter to share the devastating news with fans.

"My wonderful Mum suddenly passed away last week," she penned.

"As you can imagine it’s been a heartbreaking and confusing time. Last night she was in my dream, laughing cos Bootsy peed in my hair.

"Love you always, Maria Chinwe Obosi."

Alongside the heartbreaking post, Chizzy shared a series of sweet snaps with her sweet mum.

Fans rushed to the comments section to shower Chizzy with love and supportive comments as she navigates through this difficult time.

"Oh Chizzy, I am so sorry to hear about your lovely Mum. Sending you a hug and my heartfelt condolences," wrote one fan.

Another penned: "Sorry to read this Chizzy. Thoughts are with you and yours."

Meanwhile former Strictly pro dancer Ola Jordan added: "So sorry for your loss Chizzy, thinking of you.."

Chizzy found fame in 2002 after being one of the eight comedians to win The Urban Sketch Showcase.

She then went on to enjoy a variety of telly roles, including appearing in Holby City, Dead Set and Jinx.

What's more, her career saw bag notable roles in 15 Storeys High, EastEnders, and Hollyoaks.

It was in 2017 when she got a chance to show off her dance moves on Strictly, however it wasn't meant to be as she was the first celeb to be eliminated from the competition.
