Former Steelers WR Eli Rogers visits Dolphins

In one of the more surprising cuts for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh opted to only keep five wide receivers on the active roster, releasing veteran Eli Rogers. But it doesn’t sound like Rogers will be out of work for long. NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, Rogers had a free-agent visit with the Miami Dolphins.

Rogers had an up and down career with the Steelers. As a rookie in 2016, Rogers hauled in 48 receptions for 594 yards. But he got lost on the depth chart in 2017 and ended the season with a torn ACL. After a one-game suspension to start the 2018 season, Rogers spent most of the year on the PUP list. He was activated late but had virtually no impact.
