Former Steelers William Gay and David Johnson join team as coaching interns

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Tuesday they were adding two former players as coaching interns. Former Steelers cornerback William Gay and tight end David Johnson are going to be members of the Steelers coaching staff.

Gay played 10 of his 11 NFL seasons with the Steelers and was considered one of the slot cornerbacks in the league. His claim to fame was turning interceptions into touchdowns. Gay scored five touchdowns in 13 career picks.

Johnson spent five of his seven seasons with Pittsburgh. And like Gay left the Steelers to play elsewhere before returning. Johnson was largely a blocker but did catch 29 passes for the Steelers.
