Former Steelers’ stars to announce second and third-round picks for Pittsburgh

When the picks for the Pittsburgh Steelers second and third-round picks in the 2019 NFL draft come up, some familiar faces will be at the podium making the call. Steelers reporter Ray Fittapaldo reported on Thursday the second-round pick will be made by former Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes and the team’s picks in the third round will be made by former defensive end Brett Keisel.

Holmes was the Steelers first-round pick in 2006. He was also the last wide receiver Pittsburgh drafted in the first round. Holmes’ time didn’t leave on the best note but he will forever be part of what might be the greatest play in Steelers’ Super Bowl history. Since his retirement, Holmes has returned to the city and been a tremendous ambassador for the team.

Keisel was the team’s seventh-round pick back in 2002 and spent his entire 13-year career with Pittsburgh. Keisel worked his way into the starting lineup after a career at BYU and finished with 114 starts.
