Former Steelers’ assistant offer his praise of Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell

Two of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ three Killer B’s are likely headed to new addresses in 2019. General manager Kevin Colbert spoke before the start of the NFL scouting combine on Wednesday and announced the Steelers are going to explore trade options for wide receiver Antonio Brown and will not use the transition tag on running back Le’Veon Bell.

This will be a huge reset by the franchise and should get the focus back to football. Both guys have come under plenty of scrutiny but their former offensive coordinator had nothing but good things to say about both guys on SiriusXM radio on Tuesday.

According to Todd Haley, Bell is a guy who is “totally into football” and Brown is the hardest worker he’s ever been around. No one has ever denied Brown’s work ethic. It’s his ability to deal with criticism which seems to be his kryptonite.

But the comment on Bell is pretty hilarious. Bell is all about football. Except for the past year when he was all about everything but football. Bell sat out an entire season because for him it is all about money.

We should probably take everything Haley says with a grain of salt. After being cut loose by the Steelers he failed to hold a job running the Cleveland Browns’ offense and is currently unemployed. A case could be made Haley did less with more while he had Bell and Brown on the roster.
