Former Spartan Malik McDowell suspended 2 games by NFL

In what has become a tragic, sad story, Malik McDowell has been suspended for two games by the NFL after an altercation with a police officer. TMZ Sports first reported that the incident occurred in February in Lathrup Village, MI after an officer noticed McDowell’s car spin out after speeding on the snowy winter roads. After the video was released this week, the NFL has suspended McDowell for the first two games of the NFL season.

Of course, Malik hasn’t found a new team after being released by the Seattle Seahawks in March and this will only hinder his ability to find a new home. In what has become an infamously sad story, McDowell has yet to play one NFL game after being injured in an ATV accident before training camp his rookie year. He was then arrested for disorderly conduct back in 2017, and this recent incident is just another blemish on his career.

McDowell has said that he is cleared by doctors to play, but thus far the Dallas Cowboys have been the only team that has been remotely interested in signing him.
