Former Spartan LS Taybor Pepper signs contract extension with 49ers

Taybor Pepper announced he has signed a two-year contract extension to stay with the San Francisco 49ers. The 26-year-old has bounced from team to team since he entered the NFL. Now he has a place to call home for at least the next two years.

Pepper attended Michigan State from 2012-16 and was the starting long snapper during his time as a Spartan. He tied the mark for the most games played in a Spartan uniform, 54 games. Pepper went undrafted, but signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers on Jan. 27, 2017. He went from the Ravens, back to the Packers, to the Giants, the Dolphins and finally the 49ers in a span of four years.

Pepper has appeared in 32 games over his NFL career and found success in 2019 with the Dolphins. That led to his opportunity with the 49ers, with whom he played 12 games in 2020 and recorded two special teams tackles. Hopefully, this continues what looks to be a long and promising career at the long snapper position.
