A Perth pervert had his name added to the sex offenders’ register this week after he was convicted by jury of intentionally exposing himself to two teenage girls at his home.
Former soldier David Findlay, of Mercer Terrace, will discover his fate - and how long his details will remain on the register - when he is sentenced at Perth Sheriff Court on May 15.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis called for a background report on the 37-year-old, as well as an assessment from the Tay Project which aims to rehabilitate sex offenders.
The first incident took place on various occasions over a four-year period - from May 14, 2013, to May 13, 2017.
She was 16 when his vile behaviour began.
The charge indicated he exposed his naked, erect penis to the girl and masturbated in her presence.
The incident involving the second victim, who was also 16 at the time, took place between April 1 and 30, 2014.
Again he exposed his erect penis, grabbed it and made a remark about it.
The jury of 10 women and five men found him guilty by a majority on these two counts after being sent home by Sheriff Lindsay Foulis on Monday afternoon to resume their deliberations the following morning.
Three other charges of sexually assaulting the same two females, again at his home, and also sexually assaulting a third girl, who was 15 at the time, in a car outside his home, were found not proven by majority.
In addition, he was found not guilty on two further charges of intentionally exposing himself to two of the same girls. He faced a total of seven charges on the indictment when his trial began last Thursday.
Findlay, who was represented by defence lawyer David Holmes, was said to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.
He admitted previous convictions for breach of the peace, assault to injury and driving with excess alcohol.
He also has a Catterick District court martial from June 15, 2005, after he admitted two charges of engaging in conduct or neglect prejudicial to good order and army discipline.
That led to him being fined £500. Findlay had his bail continued meantime.
