Former soldier joins Coulters as legal director

Soldier turned lawyer Wilson Browne has joined Edinburgh-based property firm Coulters as its legal director.

Browne's move from law firm Drummond Miller, where he was a senior associate, strengthens his new employer's conveyancing arm.

It follows the recent appointment at Coulters of executive chairman Mike Fitzgerald, previously a partner at law firm Addleshaw Goddard.

Browne, 44, was a professional rugby player before he joined the Army in 1995. He moved into private security management in London and Bath before retraining as a lawyer and joining Aberdein Considine's Edinburgh property team.

Fitzgerald said: “We are focused on investing in and growing our business and Wilson’s appointment is testament to that. We are delighted to welcome him on board, he’s a great addition to the team.”

Coulters, which specialises in residential estate agency and conveyancing, has offices in Stockbridge and Edinburgh Park.

Browne added: “Coulters has a strong team and well established reputation in the market. This is one of the fastest growing solicitor estate agents firms in Scotland and I’m looking forward to playing a leading role in growing the business."
